The ingathering of the spiritual ones, both the final members of the remnant of Christ’s body and, supposedly, a ‘great company’ of a lesser spiritual class, was thought to be the chief effort of Jehovah’s consecrated people on earth. This was particularly the viewpoint down to the year 1931. First in that year it was revealed from the Scriptures that the ones whom God’s servant class (the man “clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side”) was to locate and ‘mark in their foreheads’ to be spared from destruction at Armageddon were an earthly class, the Lord’s “other sheep”.
