Chapter 8: What Is God’s Kingdom? Part II

March 18, 2017 By Sean

Earlier this week, I was thinking about my Mormon missionaries.  They “dropped” me and I figured I was done with them.  Yesterday (March 17th), I had a set of Mormons stop out at the house.  Unfortunately, I was at work and didn’t interact with them.  However, they left a card and I’m sure I’ll have to interact with them at some point in the near future.  I’d really like to finish going through Doctrine and Covenants but I’ll have to start all over with these guys and see how it goes from there.

Howdy and we were back in the swing of things “full force” today.  I was honestly figuring that we’d get through the rest of the chapter (five and a half pages) but it didn’t work out in the least bit.  Let’s get started.

They arrived a half hour late due to weather conditions and had to be back at the hall for a 1:30 PM meeting with the circuit overseer.  Their first question was, “where are the kids?”  Me, “they are upstairs and I’m not going to complain or say anything in the least bit.”  The custodian’s husband then relayed how he was actually up a tad late this morning.  He spoke about his mother in law (currently living with him and his wife) and how quiet he had to be.

Essentially, when the heat kicks on, he makes his coffee and moves around. When the heat goes off, he has to be extra quiet.  That was over when the custodian herself started coughing and her mom got up to attend to her (the custodian and husband are in their 50s or 60s).  The elder just got a fresh hair cut and we joked there isn’t very much to cut off since he’s nearly bald.

So I asked about the purpose in the circuit overseer is and his role.  The elder started explaining (it was to be the custodian’s husband leading today which didn’t happen) and he said that Paul the Apostle was essentially a circuit overseer.  The Governing Body directed Paul to make the trips and visit new places.  I just sat there already trying to keep a face of disbelief from showing.  I thought of this verse when he said this: Acts 13:2 (NWT) As they were ministering to Jehovah and fasting, the holy spirit said: “Set aside for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Please take a moment and look at what happens, the “active force” that the Jehovah’s Witness believes the Holy Spirit is spoke directly.  He (the Holy Spirit is a person the Bible teaches) calls out for Saul (name hasn’t been changed over completely) individually.  This is a sharp contrast to where the elder said it was the Governing Body who called for Saul/Paul.

I still find it interesting that this organization has to legitimize itself by equating various present day offices to what occurred back in the days of the bible.

Regardless, he explained that the circuit overseer goes out, encourages the Kingdom Halls and will visit a house when there is a need.  Since he’s not entirely familiar with the people in the local hall, they will go with an elder who’s assigned to a particular individual.  He went on further to explain that although everyone has an assigned elder, they can talk to another elder is necessary.  I thought how much everything in this organization is essentially prescribed regardless of situation.  The custodian’s husband said, well, I’m assigned to the elder and he knows me quite well (I wrote previously how they’ve lived with one another previously).

Side note, at this point, I have a kid coming down crying.  I had to attend and we continued.  We spoke briefly about our society raising a feel good culture of kids that can’t handle adversity.  This led into a brief discussion regarding suicide.  I spoke how people are using social media to carry out one more final earthly act with an audience.  We then spoke about “sad” music, the elder spoke along the lines of Motown songs and the custodian’s husband spoke about some bluegrass music.

From there, we moved into the material.  The first paragraph we talked about was the eleventh one on page 79.  I was asked by the elder (he went off the “script”) and asked how did Satan fall?    I was taken in mind to Isaiah 14:12-14 which says (NWT), How you have fallen from heaven,

12 O shining one, son of the dawn!

How you have been cut down to the earth,

You who vanquished nations!

13  You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to the heavens.

Above the stars of God I will lift up my throne,

And I will sit down on the mountain of meeting,

In the remotest parts of the north.

14  I will go up above the tops of the clouds;

I will make myself resemble the Most High.’

I explained that it was pride that caused him to fall immediately.  I was able to tie this back to Genesis where the pride arose in his heart after some period of time (scripture isn’t clear) and he wanted to be like God since he wasn’t content with his place at the top of the created beings “pecking order.”

This led to the question from me that had us go around a few times for me to try and nail down an answer.  The bold scripture is Revelation 12:7-9 (NWT):

7  And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled

8  but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them any longer in heaven.

9  So down the great dragon+ was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

I asked them about this verse in relation to Hebrews 1:1-3 (NWT):

1 Long ago God spoke to our forefathers by means of the prophets on many occasions and in many ways.

2  Now at the end of these days he has spoken to us by means of a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the systems of things.

3  He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact representation of his very being, and he sustains all things by the word of his power. And after he had made a purification for our sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

So my question to them was, “can you rectify this for me?  A fight is a somewhat equal playing field.  However, Jesus in Hebrews upholds ‘all things by the word of his power’” (Emphasis mine).

The custodian’s husband looked a tad bit confused and the elder did at first.  I went back through and explained the verses again.  I really wanted to hone in on verse three where Jesus upholds all things whether visible or invisible.

At this point, he asked about the word “world” and what it actually means.  I have in my bible a Strong’s Dictionary of the Old and New Testament and read him the definition.  He then gave a partial from the JW Library App and what the organization says.  The one I use was decidedly longer and more encompassing.  He attempted to say essentially that Hebrews 1:1-3 are the past and don’t really apply.  I openly disagreed and said that’s not the case and applies today.

By saying “all” this was a not so subtle way of saying Jesus is almighty which the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society says is not the case even though they’ve changed this view:

[Say] Saying Even so, Lord God Almighty.— The Lord Jesus.— Rev. 1:8; John 5:22; Matt. 28:18.

The Finished Mystery. 1917 p. 240

Clearly, Jesus is not God Almighty.
The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom. February 1, 2009 p. 7

Side note, if upholding “all things” doesn’t make one almighty, what does?

They looked a little bewildered to I offered an explanation.  Since the custodian’s husband is really into cars, I went with that this example.  In Revelation 12, imagine we are there.  Instead of having two people, there’s two 1967 Camaros with 350 big block engines, 4:10 gears connected to a Muncy transmission going to have a drag race.  We obviously couldn’t know which one would have won.  Comparing that to Hebrews, imagine that 1967 Camaro going against a Model-T Ford.  There’s no comparison between the two.

Regardless, we’ve established that at times, we speak the same words but have different meanings.  So we freely ask each other for clarification.  At the end, the elder answered by simply saying, “I’m not sure but Jehovah allowed it to happen.”

I allowed it to go since I was able to openly state Jesus was “almighty” which goes against the quote above in the February 1, 2009 Watchtower.  Again, I’m surprised but they didn’t argue that point either when I said the word in connection with Jesus.

Jumping forward to paragraph 15, one thing they said in connection leading up to this is that “they are not there to correct or criticize anyone in relation to what they believe about the Bible.”  Again, I let this go since I get directly questioned and they attempt to “correct” me at times.  Openly wondering-do they really think about what they state at times?  Regardless, he tried to correct later on.

One of the questions he asked was, “is everything in Revelation to be taken literally?”  Me, “Of course not.  There are some things that are literal and others that are symbolic.  John is writing from the perspective of a first century Christian and he’s writing about things that are in the future and trying to describe things in the spiritual realm while writing for a material world audience.”

He then said how there’s no way to know what the “locusts” mentioned in Revelation are.  I let it go but I remembered this doctrinal teaching from the Society. Here’s some views on how the Watchtower viewed the locusts:

9:7. And the [shapes] LIKENESSES of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle.- The battle-cry of the old-time Methodist was “All at it, and always at it”.
The Finished Mystery. 1917 p. 158

That the Lord made no mistake in selecting the Locust as a symbol of the Methodist system of blindly following leaders is clear from the following extract from the works of a traveller: "While sojourning in Syria I was told that the whole country round Mt. Lebanon was dismayed one year by the news that a vast army of marching locusts was coming from the eastern desert.

The Finished Mystery. 1917 p. 296

Is this just a prophecy about “a nation” of locusts, a locust swarm, invading Judah? No, there is more to it than that. At both Joel 1:6 and Revelation 9:7, God’s people are represented by locusts. The modern-day locust army is none other than the military force of Jehovah’s anointed locusts, now joined by some 5,600,000 of Jesus’ “other sheep.” (John 10:16) Are you not glad to be part of this great throng of Jehovah’s worshipers?

The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom. May 1, 1998 p. 9, 10

This is reinforced in Revelation! It’s Grand Climax at Hand, 1988, 2006 edition page 144 says, The release of those locusts, the John class, was actually a defeat for Christendom’s clergy, who had schemed and plotted to kill the Kingdom work for good and who now rejected God’s Kingdom.

Notice in the early days of Rutherford, it was Methodists.  Then they were “upgraded” to be the Jehovah’s Witnesses (anointed only) themselves.

So either the elder doesn’t know about the organization’s doctrinal stand or he’s trying to simply “fleece” me which isn’t working.  My simple question was merely this:

“I know you may not be able to answer, but how does the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society determine what parts of Revelation are literal and what parts are symbolic?”  The response I got was essentially one where, “the Society takes time to research and nothing is added from outside the bible itself that’s not openly stated.”  There’s a verse in Proverbs that talks about this.  I let him try to find it and I said, “Proverbs 4:18” (this is the default verse to cover for every mistake ever made).  He thanked me for it and the custodian’s husband commended me for my memory.

Again, I let it go knowing full well that there are many things where the Society “goes beyond what’s written” in direct violation of I Corinthians 4:6.  He also informed me that the “heavenly Jerusalem” is nothing more than the angels as well.

This led him to asking about the world being destroyed by “fire” in Revelation and why does “Christendom” refer to it.  He kept referring Psalms 37:29 and Isaiah 11:6-9.  I referred to Genesis 9 where the rainbow was used to establish a covenant that God would never flood the earth with water again.  However, nothing is said about fire.

I answered him and said, “on one hand, the Society is teaching you to look solely at those verses while the not a spokesman for the majority of Christianity yet “we” look at Revelation and see fire.  He then asked about what happens to Satan at the end.  These were my exact words, “he’s cast into the lake of fire, where the beast and false prophet are to be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10).  So they tried to correct me and say, “if one goes into a fire, they are destroyed.”  He totally didn’t listen to the word or meaning of “torment.”  However, I let him roll with it even though he’s not “there to correct me at all.”

From here, we started wrapping things up.  I had offered to feed them but I had no food ready to go for them in the house.  The elder said that he is going to have to meet with the circuit overseer for an hour and a half on top of the regular meeting.  He will discuss “elder level” things.

So we set our next meeting for April 1, 2017.  Please continue to pray for these gentleman and their families that something is occurring internally.

Chapter 8-What is God’s Kingdom

March 13, 2017 By Sean

Hello and the flu like conditions are over and I was feeling pretty much normal to meet with my Witness friends.  We showed up and talked about how work life is like.  On my end, I have a newish employee who I was reasonable for giving some work too.  The assignment was to call some companies for information.  Was it done?  Nope as said individual was “too busy.”  The custodian’s husband (he works in a machine shop) said how he was in a situation where he runs two machines.  However, he was asked to run a third because he is diligent.  He said to us he wishes that he was left alone and they’d bother the guys who, “stand around and drink coffee all day.”  The elder inquired to the age of the employee and said individual is no more than 24.  He then said, there’s something with the “younger generation” that they do not make much by way of an attempt to get anything done.  With that said, let’s move on a little bit.

Before we get started, this chapter is one where we can find some good common ground and there isn’t a lot in some ways to dispute.  However, there are some points that are different as with every chapter thus far.  Due to the nature of this chapter, the custodian’s husband feels comfortable enough to take the lead.  He wanted to start with a video from the organization’s official JW Library App.  He was very happy to see this and quite frankly, it’s disconcerting seeing how mind control works.  Essentially, they watch and accept everything presented.

The opening paragraphs pertain to the “Lord’s/Model Prayer.”  So we got started and the elder asked, “What are the main things to the ‘Lord’s Prayer?’”  Here was my response.  “This prayer, is a model for any other prayer.  I use the acronym of ‘ACTS.’  This is what it stands for (based on the book with that title):

Adoration

Confession

Thanksgiving

Supplication

This was a reference that they weren’t necessarily expecting as well either.  I gave this partially given the custodian’s husband a few months ago gave me regarding the kingdoms mentioned in the Bible.

So we got to paragraph five on page 77.  The second and third lines essentially say that “Jesus was resurrected and ascended.” I asked about this since according to WT theology, Jesus was the Logos in the pre-human existence, only to become Michael once “resurrected.”  I asked for a clarification regarding this.  The elder (he basically did the talking at this point) said, “it’s nothing more than a role.  When he rules, he’s known as Jesus.  When he’s fighting, he’s known as Michael.”  I didn’t feel led to press but let’s take a quick look at Hebrews 2:5, 8 (New World Translation): For it is not to angels that he has subjected the inhabited earth to come, about which we are speaking.  All things you subjected under his feet.”

Essentially, angels are not to rule the world as was said under inspiration.  However, according to Watchtower theory, Jesus is an angel who is to rule the world.

The way the conversation ran, I didn’t feel like it was the time to ask about the first question in the sixth paragraph.  If you believe Jesus/Michael can be a king yet an angel, please read the following verses:

Role:

King of Kings: Revelation 19:16

Hebrews 1:7 (Servants)

Genesis 3:24 (Guard)

Acts 7:53 (Deliver law)

All powerful: Hebrews 1:3

Detained: Daniel 10:12

We continued onto page 78  and how it deals with the 144,000.  Here’s one of the interesting things regarding the Society, the number is limited here to the 144,000 yet no where in II Timothy does it limit the number-at all.

Further on, it refers to Revelation 5:10 and explicitly says “kings.”  However this is a case where the Bible refers to these individuals being males.  However, I’ve heard of testimonies where the person was a woman whom was anointed.

So we chatted a little bit more about the 144,000 and how it’s a “loving arrangement" from page 79.  This is where the custodian’s husband made things a little interesting.  He said he was looking up information on the Roman crucifixion.  I found it odd but decided to interject a little bit.  I said the image on page 52 was not very accurate.  I got a tacit acceptance from both.  I spoke referring to how Jesus was scourged (the whip had bits of bone and would shred a person’s back).  I spoke of the Messianic passage of Psalm 129:3.  I also referred to Psalm 22:14.  Somewhat shockingly, they didn’t argue it.  The elder actually corrected the picture and spoke about the crown of thorns placed on the head of Jesus (which is missing).

This was interesting from two aspects:  The first is that the custodian’s husband was looking information up on Roman crucifixion.  They believe that Jesus died on a simple upright pole.  I was able to talk a little bit more about an image that is in the 1969 version of the Kingdom Interlinear Translation.  I was able to speak about the different set ups that were utilized to crucify an individual.  I quickly looked up the picture and was able to go over a number of them.  The book is at this link here: https://archive.org/details/ivstilipsidecruce00lipsuoft.

Again, I didn’t feel that was the time to say how the Watchtower was wrong regarding the manner in which Jesus died.  I’m content at times to allow them to drop these little tidbits as I see it since they generally don’t admit anything to the regular person they interact with.  This I feel again is due to taking the time to know them for who they are as individuals.

This lead the elder to say (he majorly zagged) that although we have old information like this, information that deals to those from just after the Bible was written has been lost.  I literally said, “I’m going to give you a slight correction” (he looked at me slightly bewildered) and said that’s not the case.  He went on to say that it’s not in the bible, how can it be trusted? The custodian’s husband actually spoke up and said it’s historical matter.  I spoke about the Early Church Fathers.  These men were disciples of the Apostles.  The elder said, “there can’t be more disciples of disciples because John was the last one.”  I said, “let me rephrase.  They were the men who were ‘directly taught by the apostles’” and this sat much better with him.  I explained that they quoted Scripture so much that if all Bibles disappeared, we could reconstruct the majority alone from what they actually wrote.

Therefore, we can get great insight from what the early church taught and believed.  Side note-this is where Unitarian groups like the Jehovah’s Witnesses “fall apart.”  They tend to attribute “Christian” beliefs to the First Council of Nicaea without much knowledge prior to this point.

This led to me showing them this website here so that they could see how it exists digitally today: https://www.ccel.org/fathers.html

When I mentioned the names Justin Martyr and Ignatius, the elder seemed to remember who it was.  He then said when the Governing Body writes material (it’s actually the organization’s Writing Committee) is not unusual for them to be referenced.  He actually proceeded to say that this material is never misquoted (cue a “poker face”).  He doesn’t know why people “attack” Jehovah’s Witnesses since all the information is freely available to them so that they can exactly how they teach everything that lines up with the bible.  If this was the case, this website wouldn’t have a reason to exist because if you look at the booklet Should You Believe in The Trinity? you know it’s not the case.

Mentally, I was still trying to comprehend what he just said.  Although I’ve done my best over the past year to build up good will, either he is engaged in theocratic warfare (permitted lying), he’s trying to impress me (I said I have some familiarity with the Early Church Fathers but not much), or he’s just read what the Society spoke in reference to.  Again, if he actually looked at Society quotes like the ones I have listed here on this website, he’d know that was definitely not have made that statement.

We talked for a few more minutes and the custodian’s husband wanted to show me another video.  This one pertained to the construction of Kingdom Halls around the world.  Once it was done they talked about the donation arrangement regarding Kingdom Halls.  Essentially I was told, there can be donations for the local hall then there’s another that can be made for the “worldwide work.”  This is where the money is openly said to be used for the furtherance of spreading JW gospel (this is different and accursed by Paul in Galatians 1:8, 9).

What they may not know about is the numerous child abuse payouts going on right now (this is where money is going).  Something else the custodian’s husband said that was somewhat striking is that the elder has access to information that others do not.  I have a feeling that he knows about the Body of Elder’s Letters and perhaps he knows about Shepherd the Flock of God elder’s manual.

He tried to equate the building of the new world headquarters to the tower of Babel.  However, here where work couldn’t go on due to confounding language, work goes on in spite of the language barrier.  He then relayed how happy his brother was in “Jehovah’s service” and how wonderful it is to build a new building.  From a sheer physical perspective, it’s alright to boast.  Spiritually speaking, I’d disagree.  They tend to boast only in the physical things they do.  It reminded me of this verse which is a contrast: But may I never boast, except in the torture stake of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been put to death with regard to me and I wish regard to the world, Galatians 6:14 New World Translation (I accept the term “cross” unlike the organization).

We set a meeting up for next week.  So with that in mind, please pray for them since:

The custodian’s husband spoke about looking up information for the crucifixion.

I was able to openly find fault with the Watchtower publication.  They actually agreed and went a step further as well.

The elder best I could tell doesn’t know anything about Early Church Fathers.  This is potential gold given there are statements by them affirming the diety of Jesus Christ.

We’ve set our meeting for March 18th to get back on our “normal” schedule.

Meeting Cancellation

March 3, 2017 By Sean

Hello!

I am writing this as I'm on the mend from a temperature spike to 102.5 degrees.  I'm back down to my normal low 97 degree range.  That being said, I proactively cancelled the meeting with the elder and the custodian's husband.  Although I'm on the mend, there are those in the house who are now getting what I had after it was passed to me.  Out of sheer respect for them and their health (I wouldn't wish this on anyone), I sent them a message that tomorrow (March 4) must be postponed.  With that being said, I'd like to give you an update as to what I've been doing even though I kind of teased things out a few weeks back.

For the past few months, I've been working on a compilation focused on one word that is frequently used by the organization, "Armageddon."  If you are a Witness you may be aware of the numerous prophetic statements made by the organization throughout its history.  I took a look at it with this post.  With this post in mind, I wanted to do something that to my knowledge has NEVER been done before, compile every single quote dealing with the word Armageddon, looking at things from the days of Pastor Charles Taze Russell to the present day Governing Body.

My progress as it stands is I'm currently in The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom June 1, 1940.  I'm currently sitting at just over 300 pages.  Once I get through the Watchtower, I will progress to The Golden Age, Consolation, Awake!, and take care of all books, booklets, and brochures.  My guess is there will be in excess of well over 1,000 pages.  One of the great aids that I will have is this page on avoidjw.org.  This is a great "go to" place for the "light" which the organization either considers old or has made the effort to extinguish yet lives on thanks to the internet.

The goal, once this is completely done will releasing every quote by year on a weekly basis.  This will allow the organization's fascination with this word to live "again" thanks to the internet.  So the question is why "Armageddon?"  My personal feeling is by having the end "just around the corner" the average rank and file Witness will be spurred on to knock on one more door.  As such this image is what comes to mind:

The Society is obviously the holding the carrot and the average Jehovah's Witness is the horse in this case.  This is done to spur on productivity since Armageddon is "soon."  This keeps productivity high yet the results are low.  To demonstrate this, go to the organization's website and download the 2017 Yearbook.  Go to page 177 for the "2016 Grand Totals."  Let's look at some math for baptisms:

1,983,763,754=Total Hours Spent in Field

264,535=Total Number Baptized

7,499 Hours per baptism or 312 days of preaching per baptism

Take a few moments and compare the hours timeframe to that under "Christian Baptism" with Nave's Topical Bible.  The organization which claims to teach the "truth" about the Bible needs to significantly cut down the time to match the hours or mere days as described in various Biblical accounts.

Here's another way of looking at it:

264,535=Total Number Baptized

119,485=Total Congregations

2.2 people baptized per congregation

If you look through the following pages, the top five countries baptismally speaking are:

Brazil=32,978

United States=28,588

Mexico=17,190

Democratic Republic of Congo=15,295

Nigeria=12,904

I personally believe the trends are a sign of future trouble.  The first indication is the United States where the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is headquartered is in second place.  This is where's Jehovah's blessing should be raining down abundantly.  However, due primarily to internet usage, the Society isn't gaining traction like it once has.  Insulating present Witnesses against going outside the organization's approved resources works for the most part as the elder and custodian's husband will only bring up the official JW Library app when they meet with me.  However, those who are outside and free to investigate quickly see the "truth behind the 'truth.'"  Due to the relationship I've developed with these guys and to a lesser extent the Witness who stands in for the elder, I'm able to bring in non-Witness sources occasionally.

The second sign is economics:

Brazil is not doing good economically.

Mexico and the United States are holding but the last two countries are really struggling economically.  Couple this with:

  1. Other countries currencies below the U.S. dollar in the third world where the majority growth is.  Without a specific number, it could take four Witness contributions to equal one person in the United States.
  2. The child abuse settlements with six/seven figure payouts.
  3. No expense spared building the new headquarters which is yet another failed prophecy:  "Altogether we concluded, after seeking Divine guidance, that Brooklyn, N.Y., with a large population of the middle class, and known as "The City of Churches," would, for these reasons, be our most suitable center for the harvest work during the few remaining years." Zion's Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence.  December 15, 1908 Reprints page 4294

Focusing back on Armageddon and the numbers, I've used Excel to perform statistical analysis on a few occasions.  I'm going to try and do the same when it comes to Armageddon.  My intent is to break the numbers down pretty concisely so you can see the quantitive (numerical) information:

  1. The total number of times the organization has used the word
  2. The number of times the organization has used the word within a particular publication.
  3. Total times per year it's been done.

I'll also attempt to do a qualitative analysis (commentary) at times regarding:

  1. Actions that Jehovah's Witnesses were to not perform as a result of Armageddon coming.
  2. Actions that Jehovah's Witnesses were to perform as a result of Armageddon coming.
  3. Liberal use of equating Bible verses to Armageddon.

I gave further thought and if you read the post from last time, you will remember that the Nave's Topical Bible has over 20,000 topics within.  I am guessing that the organization has not covered some things during its existence in favor partly due to the Armageddon focus along with topics that it feels is what sets it apart from "Christendom."

What I am not going to focus on at this time is the term such as "battle of the great day" or any other synonym that pertains to Armageddon.  This is going to be a strict word search as of right now.  So with that, I trust you are looking forward to this bit more.  I may possibly expand to include other things that are used by the organization where it is something synonymous with Armageddon.  Additionally, I am looking at possibly including Armageddon artwork that has been used as well at some point.

On the other front regarding the Watchtower, there was a recent case that "hits home" due to my proximity (45 minutes away) is the Stephanie Fessler case.  If you're not aware, she was a Jehovah's Witness who was a victim of child sexual abuse.  If you frequent www.jwsurvey.org at all, there is an EXCELLENT account of actions that happened in the court of law.  Here's the links you can look at:

Part One

Part Two

I will let you read to draw your own conclusions but I still find it highly odd that this organization that has been disfellowshipping people for smoking since the 1970s for self-harm allows an adult to harm children, whether they be extremely young to those who are older and an "adult" in terms of physiology yet still impressionable psychologically.  I covered the Watchtower and Children previously that you may wish to take a look at.

With that being said, I will hopefully be able to meet with my JW friends next week to continue our "study."
